Protect the Plant

The legal hemp industry is under threat. We're fighting back — for our community, our team, and your right to safe, natural alternatives.

The Problem

Legal Hemp Is Under Attack

Despite the 2018 Farm Bill legalizing hemp-derived products at the federal level, the legal hemp industry faces a growing storm of unclear regulations, overzealous law enforcement, and legislative attacks designed to shut it down.

Small businesses that followed every rule are being raided. Products that are 100% legal are being seized. Workers are being arrested. Communities that depend on these businesses are being left behind.

This isn't about getting high. It's about access to safe, lab-tested, plant-based wellness products. It's about the right to choose an alternative to harmful pharmaceuticals and substances.

Our Story

It Happened to Us

The Beginning

Building Something Legal

Crowntown Cannabis operated a fully licensed, Farm Bill-compliant store in Columbia, South Carolina. Every product on the shelf was third-party lab tested. Every sale was legal.

January 2023

The Raid

Law enforcement raided the Columbia location despite every product being legal hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill. The store manager — a pregnant single mother — was arrested and spent the night in jail. All of this for selling products that were 100% legal.

The Aftermath

A Community Lost

The Columbia location eventually had to close its doors. Jobs were lost. A community lost access to safe, lab-tested products. A mother's life was upended. All because of unclear laws and aggressive enforcement against a legal business.

Moving Forward

Turning Pain into Purpose

What happened to us isn't unique — it's happening to legal hemp businesses across the country. That's why we fight. Not just for Crowntown, but for every small business, every employee, and every customer who deserves access to safe products.

"No sprays. No synthetics. Just the plant."

What's at Stake

More Than a Business

When legal hemp businesses are shut down, the impact ripples through entire communities.

Small Businesses

Local shops forced to close, owners who risked everything losing their livelihoods overnight.

Jobs & Livelihoods

Crowntown employs 50+ people. Each store closure puts families at risk.

Consumer Access

People lose access to safe, tested products and turn to unregulated alternatives.

A Better Alternative

Legal hemp provides a natural alternative to harmful substances. Taking it away pushes people toward worse options.

Our Mission

What We Fight For

Clear Regulations

Defined, consistent laws that let legal businesses operate without fear of arbitrary enforcement or surprise raids.

Consumer Protection

Keeping legal, tested products available so consumers don't have to turn to unregulated or dangerous alternatives.

Product Safety Standards

Mandatory third-party lab testing, transparent COAs, and strict quality control for every product on every shelf.

No Sprays. No Synthetics.

We fight for clean, natural products. No chemical sprays, no synthetic cannabinoids. Just the plant, the way nature intended.

No sprays. No synthetics. Just the plant.
